A nine-year-old ballerina has some adorable new dance partners, thanks to the gorgeous photography of Russian photographer Andrey Seliverstoff.

There may be an adage about not being able to teach a dog new tricks, but these stunning pictures from famed photographer Andrey (Andy) Seliverstoff prove that you can teach a dog some new dance moves!

You may remember us featuring Seliverstoff’s photos from his book Kids and Their Big Dogs, and now he’s back with some beautiful pictures of sweet ballerina Maria Palkina and some very talented furry dancing partners.

Palkina is nine years old, and says that she couldn’t live without dancing and dogs, so the combination of both of her loves was photography magic.

We agree, as they not only show a very talented young ballerina, but the loyalty and love dogs will share especially with humans.

Seliverstoff took the pictures against woodland backdrops and on the edge of the water, making the pictures even more magical, and says that the inspiration for the pictures came from other artists he admires. He says that he became interested in the theme of ‘kids and dogs’ after seeing work from artists like Elena Shumilova and C. Murray, and that shots like these and in his book are very popular.

And though Seliverstoff says it’s difficult to photograph kids and pups together (with dogs being much easier to capture!), the results are stunning images that show beauty in some of its most basic and pure forms–dogs and children.

We are mesmerized!
