Dogstin Does Texas At The SXSW Conference This Weekend

If you’re in Austin, Texas this weekend for the South by SouthWest Conference (SXSW), keep an eye out for new pop-up dog parks.


Realtor.com named Austin, Texas as one of the Top 10 dog-friendliest cities in America, and this weekend, Mars Petcare is about to turn Austin into with their new ‘pop-up’ dog park prototypes! In their never-ending quest to make all cities truly pet-friendly, Mars Petcare’s Better Cities For Pets program wants to ensure that every dog and cat has places to live, visit and play.

Their ‘park’ prototype is aimed at being a model to turn cities everywhere into pet-friendly ones, and when you visit , you’ll be able to support local animal shelters when you participate in the two-day dog walkathon. For every 10 minutes you (and/or your pup!) walk, Mars Petcare will donate $100 to Austin animal shelters. They’ll also sponsor fur-fabulous adoptable dogs to play with (and take to their forever homes!) and love on, as well as have information about canine DNA kits and smart technology for pets.


Whistle CEO Ben Jacobs will demonstrate their Whistle 3 Tracking System, which combines cellular, wifi and GPS technology with a wearable device to make sure your pet can always be found should he play Houdini. Jacobs will also show how the Whistle 3 monitors pet activity when you’re not around, ensuring you can keep Fifi safe all the time.

Mars Petcare will also offer free ice cream for you and your pup as learn more about their vision to ensure more ‘green-space’ for pets to go in urban areas, and how it can be done in a way that’s a win for pets and their humans alike.


So, if you’re in or around Austin this weekend, check it out! They’ll be at (216 Congress Ave; Between 2nd and 3rd Streets) from 9:30-5:00 on March 11th and 12th and they’ll be waiting with some snuggly fur-love!
