A wedding in Chicago had a very special flower girl, and the bride said that not including her in the wedding was never an option.

When Briana Schaefer was planning her Chicago wedding ceremony, it was a given that her golden-retriever Norah was going to be part of the shebang.

Schaefer said that Norah is part of their family’s fabric, and calls Norah her little buddy and her shadow. Schaefer and her new husband Kevin call Norah their ‘dog-ter’ and have had her for four years. Shaefer said her obsession with Norah even led to her being part of the marriage proposal in October of 2016.

Kevin proposed to Briana on their five-year-anniversary at Montrose Dog Beach. Briana says she calls it a heaven on earth, and of course, Norah was privy to it all.

Briana is a dog lover from way back. Before Norah came into their lives, Briana had a dog named Tandi who sadly had passed. Briana’s maid of honor put a little picture of Tandi in her wedding bouquet, so she was able to have both of her dogs with her on her special day.

That said, they did decide to leave Norah back at home with her grandmom, so they could have some time alone on their honeymoon.

That’s okay, Norah had the last laugh as she clearly stole the limelight from her mama!
