“He followed me home from the mall… can I keep him?” OgilvyOne takes advertising to a new level with a campaign that promotes the awesomeness of rescue dogs.

It’s hard to say no to a shelter dog… especially if he’s looking you right in the eye, wagging his tail as you come closer, and follows you as you walk away. And that’s exactly what a UK shelter had in mind when they launched their latest ad campaign in a London shopping mall.

This brilliant advertising campaign – “Looking for You” – is the brainchild of OgilvyOne on behalf of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. The idea was to get people to think about adoption by using innovative technology in a super-cool new way.

So what makes this ad campaign different? Barley, the dog pictured above, was the star of digital billboards set up in the mall. As shoppers walked through the mall, some were handing a leaflet, which hid a chip that triggered Barley and allowed him to follow these shoppers, hopping from one digital billboard to the next. The effect was astounding, as this adorable pooched seemed to follow surprised shoppers no matter where they went!

Watch the video below – we hope to see more adoption campaigns like this in the near future!
