Lucy Pet Products Out To Set a Guinness World Record This Friday!

January 2, 2017 is set to be a totally tubular day! The Tournament of Roses will sponsor its 128th parade in Pasadena, California, and will no doubt have some spectacular floats! Set to steal the show, however, will be one themed ‘Beachside Paradise,’ which will feature a wave machine created specifically for dogs to surf through the parade, and sponsored by The Lucy Pet Foundation.

Lucy Pet is looking to break the Guinness World Record for longest and heaviest float and we can’t see how they wouldn’t with the 125 foot long float that weighs 70 tons and carries 10,000 gallons of water for some specially chosen surfin’ dogs to catch some waves on. The eight epic dogs were selected as winners of a nationwide contest Lucy Pet held earlier this year, and they are sure to steal the show!

And you can see the record being broken on Friday, December 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Fiesta Float Barn. To make it Guinness World Record-official, the Lucy Pet Products Float will be weighed by the California Hwy. Patrol in front of the Guinness World Record official adjudicator.

It’s your chance to see the Lucy Pet Gnarly Crankin’ K9 Wave Maker float up close – filled with 10,000 gallons of water and the K9 surfing team. As well, JoJo Siwa, pop star and internet sensation, and Carolyn Hennesy, Emmy-nominated soap opera star from ABC’s General Hospital, will be on the float for this momentous occasion.

And there will be plenty of canine celebs on hand, including Sully the English Bulldog, Turbo the surfing golden retriever and Fred the World Champion Surfing and Frisbee trick dog.

The Lucy Pet float will use AWM’s patented PerfectSwell technology, which will be specifically programmed for the canine surfers, who are sure to wow the crowds with their abilities and style. To design a wave machine for a mobile environment like a float is challenging, in that they have to ensure the wave size is appropriate for the weight and footprint of the float–and allows the furry surfers the ability to show of their totally radical skills.
