There are so many things that I Love about your blog. Reading about the Breeds of dogs. People that don’t know about a breed it is so important for them to check out the breed of dog you are thinking but getting on your website! Very helpful! I have 2 Vizslas and I loved reading about Vizslas. They are a velcro dog and you are never alone.

I would like to see more top 10 lists on petguide as they tend to be very interesting and concise. Any sort of top 5 or top 10 list hits you directly and there’s not a lot of reading involved and it’s just plain fun to compare your own top 5 or top 10 list with yours.

    Thanks :)

I loved the article on Pugs listed here: http://www.petguide.com/breeds/dog/pug/.
I like this article because I have the best dog ever, a Pug, and I think this one sentence from the article sums up my Lily perfectly “..can be surprisingly stubborn rather than simply following orders”.

  • Nicole Riley

I love the info on traveling with your pet. We love to travel and I want to keep dog safe on the road. I took some of the advice from the article and on our last trip we stopped at dog friendly stores, beaches, and hotels. We also brought his shot info and other information that we didn’t even think of, thank you. I would like to see more natural and organic articles and products to keep my Marley safe, healthy, and happy. The health articles are very important to me before I go any where else I will search your website for a solution first, knowing that most likely that the good people of petguide.com have already posted an article on the info I am searching for. I love the entertainment and the information petguide.com provides its customers and viewers. We are excited and cant wait to see what petguide.com has to offer next year.

Your puppy guide section has been very helpful to me. I have two puppies under 1 year right now. I have read all your posts on house training, biting, sitting, stay and everything else. All the articles really help to show me what to do and sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t but its always helpful to learn more information. In 2015 I hope to see more contest. I love your contests. I think a DIY section would be nice too on how to make your own dog treats, toys and even clothes. I also learn about a lot of Dog products I never knew of from your site I hope to learn of more. Maybe even have some place that people can tell you about a up and coiming company they would like to know more about and you can do that and showcase them on your site. Keep up the great work.

I am extremely interested in any information from PetGuide.com regarding therapy dogs and/or more specifically, the “Designer” breeds.
My Labradoodle, Baxter, is a therapy dog and we visit hospitals including
Veterans Hospital in Cincinnati, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, mental health facilities and we do a READ program for special needs first graders at a local elementary school. My heart is with the animal-assisted therapy through Pet Partners. Most people are
not aware that pet therapy began in the 1860’s and even the famous nurse Florence Nightingale recognized the therapeutic benefits of pet therapy. Dr. Edward Creagan of the Mayo Clinic Medical School observed “If pet ownership was a medication, it would be patented tomorrow.” For these reasons I particularly enjoyed reading about the “Designer Dog Breeds” from PetGuide.com. Most of the dogs on the list have excellent temperaments and are found in many pet therapy organizations both in the United States and Internationally. Here is some of the information I found on
    PetGuide:

    Popular Designer Dog Breeds

What makes designer dog breeds so popular is the fact that the options are virtually unlimited – you can breed any purebred dog to another purebred dog to create a designer dog breed. The first designer breed is thought to be the Cockapoo, a crossing of
the Cocker Spaniel and the Poodle, which first appeared during the 1960s. Some
    other popular designer breeds include:
    Goldendoodle:
    Golden Retriever and Poodle
    Yorkipoo:
    Yorkshire Terrier and Poodle
    Puggle:
    Beagle and Pug
    Labradoodle:
    Labrador Retriever and Poodle
    Maltipoo:
    Maltese and Toy Poodle
    Shihpoo:
    Shih Tzu and Toy Poodle
    Cheek: Chihuahua
    and Pekingese
    Pomchi:
    Pomeranian and Chihuahua
    Schnoodle:
    Schnauzer and Poodle
    Goldador:
    Golden Retriever and Labrador Retriever
As is true with any dog, you need to be
very careful with breeding to reduce the risk of proliferating inherited diseases.
Hybrid dogs/designer dog breeds are particularly at risk for certain inherited
conditions because if both parent breeds are carriers, the likelihood that the
pups will develop the condition is greatly enhanced. With responsible breeding,
however, designer dogs can actually be very healthy and may in fact exhibit
fewer health problems than the purebreds used to create them.

http://www.petguide.com/blog/cat/the-benefits-of-raw-food-diet-for-cats/ my dog and 2 cats have been on a raw diet for about 5 years and are the healthiest theyve ever been! I love that you support the diet, especially for cats who are obligate carnivores and this article about the benefits for cats is spot on! My boy cat weighed 20 pounds on kibble before the switch and dropped down over the course of two years to 15 pounds a much more healthy weight! So glad to see support from major websites like you!

I learned so much from your site this year, but the best tip of all came from this article about making your own dog shampoo: http://www.petguide.com/petcare/dog/make-your-own-homemade-dog-shampoo/
My sensitive-skinned pitbull mix was basically cured by the shampoo recipe– I think it was the apple cider vinegar that did the trick. In any case, thank you for a whole year of great information for pet owners everywhere. You truly rock!

More contests are always great! What I’d really like to see more of is information about common illnesses. My adopted cat has feline herpes, and while my vet assures me that he is healthy now, I cannot seem to find much information online about how that will affect his health later on, what the symptoms are, and what I can do as a pet owner to keep it under control. Thanks!
