Subaru of America is hosting its Subaru Loves Pets Initiative with the help of a few friends in order to improve the lives of our furry friends.

Subaru of America is spending the month of October hosting supply drives for shelter animals all throughout the country as part of its Subaru Loves Pets Initiative.

They join the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and BarkBox makers, BARK in an effort to support and show love to the nearly seven million animals who enter shelters every year.

Subaru Loves Pets wants to improve the lives of those animals, and help find them forever homes. The initiative is part of Subaru’s Love Promise vision–which aims to show love and respect to everyone, furry friends included. During the entire month of October, participating Subaru dealers nationwide will join forces with their local animal shelters in drives to bring supplies for the shelter animals in. Subaru and BARK have created Subaru Loves Pets Shelter Supply Kits, which include chew toys, reusable food and water bowls, treats and leashes. These kits will be given to local shelters, and Subaru retailers will also give New Pet Parent Kits to families who adopt new pets in the month of November.

Some Subaru dealers are even hosting fee-waived adoption events in their communities in an effort to increase adoption. The events will be supported by a grant given to the ASPCA by Subaru, and 110 animal shelters and retailers in 35 states will be involved in these fee-waiving events. To see if your local dealer is participating, you can check out their site!

Thomas J. Doll is the president and COO of Subaru of America, Inc., and says that this is a great way for Subaru to return the love that our pets give us every day. He says that participating with the ASPCA and other local animal welfare groups to help the health and well-being of animals across the country is something they are happy to do.

If you want to be part of the initiative, you can donate items at participating Subaru dealers, and when you do, you will get an all-new 2018 Subaru Crosstrek pet toy and/or Subaru Loves Pets bandana (while supplies last). They encourage you to also visit and donate supplies, and when you do, take a picture with your furry friend in a fun, pet-friendly photo frame.
