Big is beautiful – just ask Kuma, our Adoptable Dog of the Week. This 4.5-year-old Akita mix is currently waiting for a forever family in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She’s already spayed, house trained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Kuma’s Tale:

This big girl is Kuma, who is a mixed breed dog, mostly Akita. Kuma is about 4.5 years old and is closing in on 90 lbs. She is alert and smart and gets along with other dogs in our play groups. She also does great with people, as she likes to greet every new person she meets with a smile and gives everyone a chance to pet her. She is definitely a gentle giant! She loves being a lap dog and walks well on a leash.

If you have another dog in your household and would like to consider adopting Kuma, bring that family member with for a ”meet and greet” with this beautiful animal.

For more information or to adopt Kuma, please visit Santa Fe Animal Shelter.
