With proceeds going toward animal shelters, you’ll feel good about your purchases

We love stores and products that are designed to make the lives of dogs better. And that’s just one of the reasons we’re smitten with Jusani Culture (the other reason being that this online store is jam-packed with cute items for pooches and the humans who love them).

An organization founded to raise awareness and funds for non-profit U.S. animal shelters, Jusani Culture has a unique approach to fundraising. The company has just given its homepage a new design that not only looks flashy, but also highlights a current sponsored shelter. When you stop by the homepage, you’ll be able to watch a video detailing that particular shelter’s work as well as a “share a pet” feature, where you can learn more about the animals the shelter has up for adoption and share them through your social media networks.

New shelters are showcased every two weeks. What’s awesome about this fundraising model is that Jusani sets goals with regards to how many pets are shared and how much money is raised. A counting ticker tracks and shows you the progress being made for that sponsorship period as well as the total amount donated up to that point. A countdown clock lets you know how much time remaining to help the current shelter feature.

Jusani donates $5 of every purchase made on its online shop to the sponsored shelter, plus there are items that feature an $8 donation. The handmade products available at the online store are so amazing it’ll be hard to stop at just one purchase. Here are a few of the items we have on our wish list:

Buckle Martingale Personalized Dog Collar: Forget those jangly tags – the Buckle Martingale Personalized Dog Collar gives your dog an identity. Designed for dogs with thin necks, or necks as wide as the head, this collar tightens slightly when you pull on the leash. To make identification easy, your dog’s name and contact information is engraved into the buckle. There are 18 colors to choose from and the collar is washable. Each collar costs $48.

Coconut Dog Toy: We’re nuts about the Coconut Dog Toy. This all-natural coconut dog toy has a natural Sisal or Manila rope running through it – you’ll be able to play tug or let your pooch chew on it for hours. Buy it for $30.

Boston Terrier She Smile: Just look at that smile – who can resist? And that’s why it’s so hard to resist this woman’s cotton-blend t-shirt. Fashioned by hand, it’s super stretchy, so you always get a nice, tight fit. Put one on for $30.
