It’s a hands free device that’ll help you and your dog on the jogging trail. Thanks to PaxLeash, it’s never been easier to hit your

Do you and your dog lead an active lifestyle? If so, we may have just found the Holy Grail of leashes!

The PaxLeash (so-named because it packs up into a compact and uber-portable carrying system) has an excellent design for those times you want to go off the beaten path with your pooch and not worry about fussing with a regular leash.

The secret to the PaxLeash is in the handle, which serves a dual purpose as the above mentioned carrying system. The handle can be carried in the usual way, or it can go around your wrist like bracelet so you can roam hands free with your pup.

When not in use, you can also fold up the leash. The handle is made up of two separate padded flaps (which encase the leash in the flaps) that stay shut thanks to a sturdy velcro closure. The PaxLeash also has two carabiner clips on it — one that clips to your dog’s collar and another that allows you to clip it onto a a backpack or belt loop when it’s time for some off-leash action.

As someone who takes their dog hiking on a regular basis, I think this is genius! I usually take a backpack with me and throw my dog’s leash in there when we’re hiking. Let me tell you, when we get to the end of the hike and I’m tired and (let’s face it) sweaty, the last thing I want to do is dig around in my pack for the leash and then struggle to get it untangled from the towels, water bottles and whatever else I may have kicking around in there. A leash that I could just clip onto my pack sounds like a dream!

Additionally, the PaxLeash has a couple other great features. There’s a second adjustable hand grip that you can move up and down the length of the leash — great for those times when you’re passing another runner or hiker and need to quickly shorten up the leash and have a little more control. It’s also great for preventing painful rope burn that can sometimes occur when grabbing the leash.

The PaxLeash comes in two different colours: neon green and neon orange, both with reflective stripe material woven in — a great feature to have when you’re out for a nighttime run with your pooch.

So, just where can you get your paws on the PaxLeash?

Well, the good news is, the people behind the PaxLeash just kicked off their Kickstarter campaign on Friday, which means you can get in on the action early.

You can contribute as little as $1, which will get you a special ‘Thank You’ email and your name on the ‘Founding Members’ page of the PaxLeash website. For $29 you can get in on the Super Early Bird Special, which will get you one PaxLeash in the color of your choice! The regular price is $44, so this is definitely a steal.

The Kickstarter campaign runs until July 15, 2016 and the founders are hoping to raise $8,000 to ramp up production on the PaxLeash — a totally doable goal and a milestone we hope to help them achieve!
