A big heart and a loyal personality- this gal will show you what best friend truly means. Our Adoptable Dog of the Week is Hailey, a 6 years old German Shepherd mix from Searsmont, Maine. She is housetrained, spayed, and up to date on her vaccinations. Hailey is a friendly dog that would easily fit in most families: she does well with older children, larger dogs, and gets along with cats.

Hailey’s Tale

Hailey is a sweet pooch that found herself in an unfortunate situation- despite not wanting to, her previous owners had to give her up and she’s really hoping she’ll get a second chance at her happy furever after. She is a well-mannered pooch that behaves well in the house even when left alone, does great on car rides (in fact, she loves ‘em!), and loves being included in family activities. Although, her favorite activity by far is getting plenty of belly rubs! She’s a smart and well-behaved dog that will be your most loyal companion- she will shower you with love and attention.

Hailey is a socialized pooch that will fit in most living situations, although she doesn’t like small dogs. So if you already have a fussy Chihuahua or a Wiener dog, for instance, chances are that Hailey isn’t the best choice for your family. Larger dogs that are respectful of her space can be a good choice for her furry siblings, but she wouldn’t mind being the only dog in the household. Fortunately, she doesn’t mind feline friends- in fact, she gets along great with cats. Hailey would do best in an adult-only household or family that has older children (over 12 years of age).

If this lovely doggo sounds like she would fit right in your family, be sure to contact Miracle German Shepherd Dog Rescue of Maine to learn more about Hailey and how you could adopt her.

A proud mama to seven dogs and ten cats, Angela spends her days writing for her fellow pet parents and pampering her furballs, all of whom are rescues. When she's not gushing over her adorable cats or playing with her dogs, she can be found curled up with a good fantasy book.
