This sweet and shy girl is looking for someone that will give her a chance to shine! Our Adoptable Dog of the Week is Ellie, a year old Border Collie mix from Dodson, Montana. She is spayed, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, and microchipped. Ellie is a kind soul that gets along with other well-behaved dogs but hasn’t had a chance to be tested around children or cats.

Ellie’s Tale

Some pooches have trouble charming the pants off the potential adopters when they are just shy and mild-mannered, and Ellie is definitely one of those doggos. Quiet and unassuming, she won’t draw your attention with silly antics or open-hearted tail wags and puppy smooches, but once she gets to know you and relaxes a bit, she will show her soft and affectionate side. Ellie absolutely loves people and when she feels safe around someone, she’ll shower them with love, devotion, and plenty of doggo hugs- needless to say, it’s worth sticking around.

Ellie’s a playful dog that loves her toys and behaves well in any setting: she’s housetrained and crate trained both, so you won’t have any trouble with her adjusting to your regimen. This shouldn’t be a surprise, after all- with some Collie in her gene pool, she was bound to be a smart cookie. She is also good with other dogs that share her kind spirit and will not mind sharing you with another pet. She hasn’t been tested around cats or children, so you’ll have to inquire more if your family has kiddos or feline members.

In case you’re willing to give this shy but loving pooch a chance to win over your heart, contact RezQ Dogs organization to learn more about Ellie and the adoption process. Fingers crossed- you might just be getting a furry four-legged friend for life!

A proud mama to seven dogs and ten cats, Angela spends her days writing for her fellow pet parents and pampering her furballs, all of whom are rescues. When she's not gushing over her adorable cats or playing with her dogs, she can be found curled up with a good fantasy book.
