With a contagious smile and a bubbly spirit, this happy-go-lucky pooch will brighten up your life! Our Adoptable Dog of the Week is Gadget, a 4 to 5 years old yellow Labrador Retriever mix from Shelbyville, Kentucky. This four-legged charmer is neutered, housetrained, and up to date with his vaccinations. Gadget would do best in an adult-only home or a family with older children, and while he tolerates other dogs and cats, he would prefer to be the only pet in the household.

Gadget’s Tale

This fun-loving fella has been waiting to get a furever family for far too long! And it’s truly a mystery why, because he’s both adorable-looking and has a lovely personality. Gadget is an affectionate, energetic medium size pooch (around 25 pounds) that will be a loyal companion on all of your adventures. Whether it’s a hike or a marathon in front of the TV, this furball will be happy as a clam to be right by your side. Just be sure to reward him with a lot of belly rubs for his sweetness- those are his faves! After squeaky toys, that is. Gadget thinks that squeaky toys are the best thing in the world after having a hooman of his own, so what could be more perfect than having both after all this time he’s been waiting?

Gadget is a friendly, loving dog but he loves to be in the center of attention, so he would do best in a family where he is the only pet. He gets along fine with kids, as well, but would prefer not to share his home with young children. For the right family, Gadget will be a perfect dog- he is not demanding but will offer his whole heart! A proud mama to seven dogs and ten cats, Angela spends her days writing for her fellow pet parents and pampering her furballs, all of whom are rescues. When she's not gushing over her adorable cats or playing with her dogs, she can be found curled up with a good fantasy book.
