Goofy and cute, this little lady will charm you from the get-go! Our Adoptable Dog of the Week is Pixie, a 4 years old cute little mutt from Shelburne, Vermont. She is spayed, microchipped, and housetrained. Pixie is a friendly pooch but would do best in an adult-only household as young children make her nervous. She loves other dogs and tends to get along well with them, but owing to her high prey drive, she can’t be placed in a home with cats or other small animals.

Pixie’s Tale

Pixie was picked up as a stray and ended up as shelter- lucky for her, the rescue pulled her out to try and give her a second chance at life. An active, happy-go-lucky dog, Pixie will instantly dazzle you with her positive attitude. She loves car rides, playing with other dogs, her humans or toys, belly rubs, and tasty treats- in other words, you’ll have no problem winning her over as long as you are ready to shower her with affection and attention. Her only wish is to have someone love her furever- and she’ll return it tenfold. Pixie is housetrained and knows a few commands already (sit, come, off, and go to your room) but there’s no saying what else she could learn with an experienced owner.

Pixie is a sweet pooch but little kids make her nervous and stressed (and who can blame her?), so she requires a family with no small children in the family. Similarly, she has a high prey drive, so no cats or small pets, either. On the other hand, Pixie gets along great with other dogs and would prefer to share her new home with a canine companion.
