This gentle giant will shower you with love- he has a big heart and is a big goofball! Our Adoptable Dog of the Week is Booser, a 3 years old Great Pyrenees and Labrador Retriever mix from Minot, North Dakota. This polar bear look-alike is neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and microchipped. Booser gets along with other dogs and loves kids, but needs a home without cats.

Booser’s Tale

A sweet pooch with a fun-loving personality, Booser will be a great pet for families that live in a house with a big yard and want a dog that is a goofball at heart. He loves basking in the sun and going on walks and will be your loyal companion for anything you do. He has some typical quirks of a guarding breed, though, so he can be a bit reactive through the gate or fence line when he sees strangers but as he settled in his foster home, this behavior did diminish. Booser is not a big barker and will generally be quiet- a dog that will be the neighbor’s favorite, some may say. He walks well on a leash and is a sweet, well-mannered boy in general.

Booser needs a slow introduction with other dogs as he may be a bit overwhelmed with a pushy, overly eager canine friend, but as soon as he gets to know the dog, he becomes a real-life teddy bear. He’s great with kiddos, too, but have in mind that this giant floof weighs 100 pounds but acts like a big puppy, so he might inadvertently knock down a young child during playtime.
