Adoptable Dog of the Week- Buster
This little scruffy butt is looking for someone to give his heart to! Our Adoptable Dog of the Week is Buster, a year and a half old Terrier mix from Wetumpka, Alabama. This charming pooch is neutered, up to date on his shots and microchipped. Buster gets along well with other dogs but isn’t a big fan of cats. He is looking for an adult-only home.
Before he ended up in a shelter, Buster was living in a hoarder’s home: he is one of 74 dogs that were voluntarily surrendered to the county. He was living in a pen outside, covered in dirt and full of fleas. Luckily, it all took a turn for the better once Buster was rescued and given a new chance at life. He’s now a clean, healthy, happy-go-lucky pooch that is looking for his furever family!
Buster is active and playful and has the energy to spare. He has a lot of personality packed into his 22-pound frame, but that’s just how all Terriers are–and people who love their spunk and zest will adore Buster from the get-go. He loves people and he’s very friendly, and he’ll shower you with love if you let him–just make sure to spoil him with treats in return! He’s not as kind when it comes to kitties (again, those Terrier genes!) but he would get along with a canine friend. However, as Buster can be a bit bossy and dominant, his perfect dog roommate would be larger than him and easy-going. Buster is not unfriendly to kids, but due to his complicated past, it’s best if goes into an adult only home.
In case that Buster sounds like a fun pooch you’d love to welcome in your family, contact the Humane Society of Elmore County for more information on how to adopt him.
A proud mama to seven dogs and ten cats, Angela spends her days writing for her fellow pet parents and pampering her furballs, all of whom are rescues. When she's not gushing over her adorable cats or playing with her dogs, she can be found curled up with a good fantasy book.
