Black dogs are often overlooked- but this boy is an absolute stunner! Our Adoptable Dog of the Week is Noah, a 3 years old Labrador Retriever mix from Bloomington, Illinois. In addition to been neutered and microchipped, Noah is also current on his vaccinations, heartworm checked and dewormed. He’s a sweet boy who loves everyone once he meets them, but he needs a home with kids over 8 years of age.

Noah’s Tale

When it comes to rescues, you don’t always get to know about their life before the shelter. As for Noah, one thing’s for sure: his previous life left him a bit scared and distrustful of strangers. For instance, he’s especially fearful of people wielding sticks, such as golf clubs. However, once Noah gets to know you better and realizes there’s no room for fear, he transforms into the sweetest boy! He really is a wonderful dog and could blossom alongside a family who would help him work on his confidence.

If you want to get on Noah’s good side fast, though, you can’t go wrong with a ball. This little guy is absolutely obsessed with them and could play fetch for hours on end. A ball and a good throwing arm are all it takes to gain a furry friend for life! And Noah is definitely a companion any pet parent would wish for. He’s friendly and kind, but he can get a bit overly protective over his home and people, but that’s just because he longs to belong. Noah is not aggressive or rough in play, but as he weighs 67 pounds, it’s recommended he goes into a home with children older than 8.
