How could anybody say no to this sweet face? Our Adoptable Dog of the Week is Perla, a 2 year old Spaniel and Spitz mix from Northwood, New Hampshire. She is spayed, up to date on her shots, crate trained, and housetrained. This petite pooch gets along with cats and other dogs, so she wouldn’t mind sharing her home with a furry companion.

Perla’s Tale

Perla came to the United States from Puerto Rico this summer, when she lost her family in a devastating hurricane. For the most part, you’d never be able to tell that this lovely gal went through such an ordeal- apart from her initial shyness, her misfortune hadn’t left a mark on her character.

She is very affectionate and loves getting belly rubs. This sweet pooch will be more than happy to snuggle next to you on the sofa and enjoy your company! Perla definitely loves everybody she meets, although she can be a bit distrustful of men at first. Luckily, she’s very treat-motivated and bringing by a few yummies is sure to improve the first impression! She also gets along with cats and dogs, provided that they have a friendly and sweet disposition.

The combination of her people-pleasing character and smarts ensured that Perla is fully trained. She has all her manners: Perla walks great on the leash (and loves her walks!), she is housetrained, and crate trained. Considering that she loves to be praised, as well as be rewarded with delicious treats, there’s no saying what other tricks and commands Perla could learn with the right person by her side!

If you are looking for a true sweetheart of a dog who’s ready to settle down with a furever family, contact Pet Tails Rescue for more information about Perla. This lovely girl is waiting for you!

A proud mama to seven dogs and ten cats, Angela spends her days writing for her fellow pet parents and pampering her furballs, all of whom are rescues. When she's not gushing over her adorable cats or playing with her dogs, she can be found curled up with a good fantasy book.
