Even owners of naughty pets deserve to have a Christmas tree! Argos comes to cat parents’ rescue with their genius creation.

As someone who lives with multiple cats in her home (note the absence of the word owns), I have come to terms with the fact I won’t ever have a Christmas tree again. It might sound a tad dramatic to peeps who either have a thoroughly uninterested feline or a docile pooch, but for an overwhelming majority of cat people, this statement rings true.

Every hack or Pinterest idea on how to cat-proof my Christmas tree failed to protect my holiday decor from the curious paws and big, glittering eyes of my cats. I found a way to be content with wreaths, garlands, lights, and even a few ornaments, all strategically placed on hard-to-reach spots. Naturally, when I saw that Argos created a pet-proof Christmas tree, hope rekindled- could it be that cat parents get to have real holidays again?

The UK retailer offers a unique artificial tree: a 6 foot, half parasol Christmas tree that is “missing” the lower half of its branches. To a person who doesn’t have a pet, this type of holiday tree might seem strange. But to anyone who’s ever had to pick up broken baubles after their cat decided to climb the tree or their dog knocked it over, this is a truly genius product. And people at Argus know it. They promise that their half parasol tree will “keep your perfectly placed baubles, bows, and bells out of reach of curious, crawling kids or your cats’ playful paws”. And that’s all we want for Christmas. You don’t even have to “settle” for the standard, evergreen style if that’s not your style. The company offers the same tree in a snowy variant– for those pet parents who really love white Christmas theme.

Santa came early for us feline pawrents- so don’t wait. Grab your kitty-proof tree while they’re in stock (naturally, they’re selling like hotcakes) and have yourself a merry little Christmas- this year, complete with a decorated tree.
