Golden Goodness Dog Treat Recipe

You don’t have to have a Golden Retriever to make this golden treat! We called it the Golden Goodness Dog Treat Recipe because there are a lot of gold ingredients: whole wheat flour, wheat bran, honey and rolled oats. To top it all off, we added a few spoons of peanut butter… just because we know your dog will dig it!


Golden Goodness Dog Treat Recipe


Makes about 30 cookies


Ingredients:


2 cups whole wheat flour


1/2 cup wheat bran


1/2 cup rolled oats


Water (as needed)


1/3 cup olive oil


2 eggs


3 tablespoons peanut butter


2 tablespoons of honey


Directions:


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Mix flour, bran and oats together in large bowl. Gradually stir in water, oil, eggs, peanut butter and honey and mix well. Dough should be fairly stiff.
  3. Roll out dough on a floured flat surface. Cut using your favorite cookie cutters and place on non-stick cookie sheets.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes with oven on, then turn off heat and let them sit in the oven for another 20 minutes to harden.
  5. Remove from oven and place on cooling racks.
