Goofy, cute, and sweet as they come- can’t get lovelier than that! Our Adoptable Dog of the Week is Duke, a 5 years old English Pointer from Brunswick, Maine. This cutie is also neutered, up to date on his shots, housetrained, and crate trained. Duke is also a friendly guy, so he will get along with kids and other dogs- he hasn’t been tested around cats, though.

Duke’s Tale

When Duke was first rescued, it was easy to notice that he had a ruff start to life. He was timid and afraid of loud sounds and men- he would hide for hours in a closet. Luckily, with some love from his foster family, this lovely pooch completely blossomed. Now, Duke is a friendly, sweet doggo who only wants to cuddle. Naturally, he can still be a bit nervous in new places and environments, but nothing a bit of love and patience won’t fix in a second.

In addition to being the sweetest cuddle bug there is, Duke is also an active, adventurous guy. He would make a great hiking partner, and he does good in cars- perfect if you want a companion for all your adventures!

Duke loves kids and does good with other dogs, but have in mind that he weighs about 60 pounds, so he could inadvertently knock a young child over. For that reason, it is best that Duke goes to a family where the kids (if there are any) are a bit bigger and could enjoy playing with this big fella. Duke hasn’t had the chance to be around cats since he ended up in a rescue, so you’d have to ask about testing him with felines if you have a kitty already.

If you want a sweet, loyal dog to be a part of your family, Duke is a great choice. To find out more about him and how you could adopt him, contact Passion for Pets Rescue for more information.
