Are you looking for a laid-back, lazy, quiet four-legged bestie to share your life with? Our Adoptable Dog of the Week is Ruckus, a 6 year old Shepherd mix from Lewiston, Maine. He is neutered, vaccinated, walks great on a leash, and knows some basic commands. Ruckus does well with other dogs, but young children and cats make him nervous – he’d do best in an adult-only home as an only pet or with a doggy sibling that has energy levels similar to his.

Ruckus’ Tale

Ruckus is the epitome of a cool guy – or dog, if you want to be nitpicky about it. He is sweet and loving, and will warm up to everyone he meets, especially if they happen to offer a treat or two – they’ll instantly become his favorite person. Ruckus is a very independent gentleman, who sometimes prefers to have some quiet time by himself, either to chill and lounge or just to take some well-deserved naps. He’s not clingy or needy and is a perfect pet for owners who prefer a more laid-back dog with a friendly yet self-reliant temperament!

As such, Ruckus doesn’t really fit in families with kids – they usually don’t respect his desire for quiet time and want to play all of the time, and want to play all of the time which is not Ruckus’ jam. He does well with other dogs, as long as they have similar personalities and energy, but cats make him nervous, so a feline-free home would be best.

Ruckus is a well-mannered guy that knows his commands, walks well on a leash, and knows how to behave when inside a house. A true gentleman anyone would be lucky to share their home with!

In case you think that Ruckus would fit right in with your family’s lifestyle, contact Greater Androscoggin Humane Society to learn more about him and the adoption process.
