Celebrate the holiday and the start of summer with this red, white, and blue frozen dog treat. It’s perfect on a panting hot day!


Oh say can you see… how awesome these treats are! By carefully layering strawberries, yogurt and blueberries, I was able to construct a fruity Fourth of July treat that’s good for your dog. It took a little more time to make than most of my dog treat recipes, but Independence Day only comes but once a year. Your patriotic pooch deserves a treat just as cool as he is!


Patriotic Pooch Frozen Treats Recipe

Makes 12 treats


Ingredients


1 cup strawberries


1 cup blueberries


1 cup plain yogurt


¼ cup water, separated into 2 parts


Directions


  1. Blend strawberries and 1/8 cup water until smooth. Pour mixture into mold, about 1/3 full, leaving room for the other 2 layers. Put in freezer for 1-2 hours to set.
  2. Spoon yogurt into mold on top of strawberries layer, about 1/3 full, leaving room for the last layer. Put in freezer for 1-2 hours to set.
  3. Blend blueberries and 1/8 cup water until smooth. Pour mixture into mold on top of yogurt layer up to the top. Put in freezer 6 hours to completely freeze.
  4. To remove treats, run molds under hot water and pop them out. Serve and enjoy!
