Unique looks and a fabulous personality – this girl will charm the pants off of you! Our Adoptable Dog of the Week is Kenzie, a one-year-old Catahoula Leopard mix from Salt Lake City, Utah. She is spayed, crate trained, housetrained, and up to date on her vaccinations. Kenzie does well with other dogs but needs a home without young children or cats in the family.

Kenzie’s Tale

A sweet, active girl that loves to play and cuddle, Kenzie will quickly become your best friend. Catahoulas are a mix of a bunch of different herding dogs, such as Aussies and Kelpies – to name a few, and Kenzie definitely inherited that energetic side from her ancestors! She will get into mischief if she doesn’t have a “job” to occupy her mind and her body, so it would be best if she goes to an adopter who has had previous experience with herding or working breeds. She’d do best in an active family that spends a lot of time outdoors and would love a four-legged companion for their adventures. She has webbed feet and loves to swim, so if you live by a lake or a river, all the better!

Due to her size and energy levels, Kenzie should go to a family without any small, young kids she could accidentally hurt in play, but older kids are completely fine. She does well with dogs, especially those that are playful as she is! A smart girl, Kenzie is house trained and crate trained – all she needs is a chance.

In case you think you could be the one to give it to her, contact Herding Haven to learn more about Kenzie and the adoption process. Fingers crossed – anyone would be lucky to have a lively, smart dog such as Kenzie by their side!

A proud mama to seven dogs and ten cats, Angela spends her days writing for her fellow pet parents and pampering her furballs, all of whom are rescues. When she's not gushing over her adorable cats or playing with her dogs, she can be found curled up with a good fantasy book.
