The Sims 4 is coming, and this upgrade includes customizable cats and dogs. Let’s face it–even in virtual reality, pets make everything better!

When mega-gamer company Electronic Arts (EA) recently shared that its “The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs” pack was hitting shelves on November 10, gamers worldwide cheered for the hoards of pets they would be able to create. The Sims 2 and 3 versions did have pet expansions, EA took it up a notch with its “Create A Pet” tool in version 4.

In the new version, you’ll be able to outfit your pet in adorable clothes and accessories. You can even customize your pet’s personality traits, meaning no two pets will be alike–just like in real life!

The Sims 4 will also include the opportunity to choose veterinarian as a career and will have a new neighborhood that caters to their pets’ happiness–Brindleton Bay. In the new hood, pets can take leisurely walks to the local lighthouse or swim near the docks, as well the ability to set up playdates with other virtual pets and families.

Best of all? In this version, players can rescue and adopt strays (though I have to say, I’d prefer that to be more a real-life thing, no virtual pet is left homeless in The Sims.

We also love how EA introduced the news, bringing the adorable social media star Jiffpom out on stage as they released the news. Jiffpom is pretty much the cutest pomeranian on the planet, and the perfect spokesperson spokesdog to spread the good news.

About time, EA, about time. Now…just waiting until November to create the virtual dog pack I’ve always wanted! I think this could be the start of some crazy dog lady alter-ego life, and you know what?
