A Pennsylvania business that sells delicious organic dog treats also gives jobs to those with developmental disabilities and autism.

Duke’s Delites is a Wescosville, Pennsylvania community business that’s extra special. Their products are delicious organic dog treats for the furry family members and their employees? Well, they’re those who have developmental disabilities and/or autism.

Duke’s Delites is a branch of the Love Ran Red foundation, an organization that helps care for people with developmental disabilities and age out of services.

Bill Wright is the founder and chairman of the Love Ran Red Foundation and says that the employees all want to work, and have a hard time finding employment. Wright says that making the treats gives them a sense of purpose, and pays them as well.

Wright says that the success has been so well that they’re going to be able to expand and hire more people, and that means they’ll be able to bake and package the treats in the Wescosville church building they’ve been using.

Wright says that he hopes his company helps inspire others to hire those with developmental disabilities, and to help break the belief that there’s nothing productive for these young adults as they age. He says they love the structure and being able to have a place to go and purpose and they love that dogs get to partake of their yummy treats.
