Breakups are never easy, especially when it comes to the division of property. A New York business man is involved in an ugly lawsuit–he’s wants his ex-fiance to return a pricey engagement ring and, most importantly, his beloved dog.

It’s never really pretty when love turns south, but it seems like all is NOT fair in love and war. Joe DiTomaso, CEO of All the Rooms, is embroiled in a lawsuit to get back things he gave his fiance while they were together–most importantly, his dog Blu.

DiTomaso and ex-fiance Jamie Cohen met each other while working together, and after two years of dating became engaged. He gave her a $48,300 engagement ring and furniture valued at approximately $12,000. When their relationship ended, Cohen broke DiTomaso’s heart when she took his dog Blu with her.

DiTomaso’s suit against Cohen is in the Manhattan Supreme court, with DiTomasso looking to recover the ring, the money for the furniture, and his dog Blu, who he’d not seen since she took him in 2013. The suit alleges that he came across Blu in December of 2015, and that Cohen took Blu without DiTomasso’s permission. She also took all the furniture from the condo they shared, and refused to return her ring.

According to the suit, DiTomasso has not received anything Cohen took while he wasn’t home that fateful day, including Blu, and DiTomasso is asking for those things returned, as well as damages in the amount of $65,000.

Neither party is commenting on the suit, but DiTamoso was Blu’s human well before Cohen moved in with him, and insists that Blu belongs with his rightful, first owner–immediately.

We’ll see what the court says Blu will ever get to be his man’s best friend again – we’re rooting for a happy ending!
