Watch Hero Dogs of 9/11 Tonight On Animal Planet
On September 11, 2001, 300 of the 10,000 emergency rescue workers were dogs. Their job was not only to help rescue efforts when the towers fell; they were also there to aid survivors in the aftermath of the terrorist attack. To honor and showcase these wonderful dogs, Animal Planet is premiering Hero Dogs of 9/11 tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Hero Dogs of 9/11 tells the true story of dogs involved with the search and rescue at the World Trade Center. Although they were first used in the search and rescue efforts, they were also to comfort the emergency workers and help bring peace to the families who lost loved ones.
This special showcases search and rescue dogs, comfort dogs and bomb detection dogs, and tells their stories of courage and healing. Watch the video that inspired the documentary below – it is a touching and heartfelt tribute that celebrates these noble heroes.
