Is your dog gluten sensitive? It can be tough to find gluten free treat choices at the pet food stores. Your best bet, to ensure a gluten-free experience, is to make some at home. Even if you’re hapless in the kitchen, this Cranberry Almond Dog Treat Recipe is easy to make!


Cranberries for dogs, when fed in moderation, offer a slew of powerful antioxidant boosts. Not only are they good for your dog’s immune system, but they can help prevent some cancers, improve cognitive health, and enhance bladder wellness, especially if your pooch suffers from frequent urinary tract infections.

Cranberry Almond Dog Treat Recipe

Makes 30 cookies


Ingredients:


3 cups almond flour

1/2 cup dried cranberries

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/3 cup pumpkin puree

1 egg

1/3 cup water


Instructions:


1.      Preheat the oven to 350° F.

2.      Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper

3.      In a medium-sized bowl, combine all the dry ingredients: almond flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

4.      In another medium-sized bowl, mix wet ingredients: pumpkin puree, water, and egg.

5.      Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir together until combined

6.      Stir in the cranberries

7.      Scoop a tablespoon of dough and place on the baking sheet, flatten the cookies with the back of a large tablespoon to about 3/8" thickness (cookies should be small and not too thin)

8.      Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the edges are slightly golden brown.

9.      Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet.

10.  Place in airtight container and store in refrigerator or freezer.
