A Police department on the New Jersey Shore has won the Internet today, posting an adorable “PugShot” of a runaway dog from Maryland.

As if pictures of pugs are not the cutest ever anyway.

The Cape May, New Jersey police department taught the Internet a very valuable lesson with it’s posting of an adorable runaway Pug Named Bean. Cape May Patrolman Michael LeSage said he found the pug in a yard and after he tried to get her in his patrol car, he realized he’d need to lift her because her legs were too short to make the leap.

This is what happens when you run away from home. This guy was captured sneaking through yards on the 1300 block on New Jersey Avenue. If you know his owner please contact 609-884-9500

As Bean looked not a bit remorseful for her running crime, LeSage posted a picture of her ‘PugShot’ on their Facebook page, telling fellow pups everywhere that crime does not pay, and running away from home will get you that infamous picture and a possible stint in the big (dog) house.

Update – the pug’s owner has been located and he has been released on bail

Bean’s mama Hadley Hubbard of Baltimore posted how thankful she was for Bean being found, and said that Bean was resting comfortably after paying her bail in cookies.

Yes, cookies! Patrolman LeSage said that Bean did indeed pay her bail, and it was in cookies.
